Is Raspberry Ketone Drops for Weight Loss Worth Your While?

You see ads on weight loss supplements too often when you browse the Internet, and this may have caused you to think twice about their value and effectiveness. It is understandable, though, as it is indeed true that there are too many supplements out there. And, it is also a fact that not all of them are created equal. Now one of these supplements is raspberry ketone drops, and if you watch television a lot, you may be familiar with it in one way or another. It is being promoted as an efficient weight loss aid and that it stands out from the others. But, is it really worth your while?

Now there are valid reasons to make you believe that the supplement is worth a try. For one, it is made from natural ingredients, and of course, its main ingredient is raspberry ketone, a compound that is extracted from red raspberries. The question now is what makes if special? The more appropriate question, however, would be, "What makes it work?" Well, it works by helping regulate your metabolism, and that is with the help of a protein-hormone called adiponectin. Have you ever wondered why some of your friends eat a lot yet they stay slim? The reason for that is that they may have high levels of adiponectin in their body. The protein hormone speeds up metabolism or how your body burns fat. And, taking the supplement essentially increases its levels in your body, and of course, that means faster metabolism for you.

Another question you may have is that why raspberry ketone drops? Why not take the pill or capsule form? The explanation for that can be seen on page 1542 of the Physician's Desk Reference. It is stated there that medications and supplements taken in liquid form are absorbed by the body faster than those taken in capsule or pill form. The main reason for this is that pills tend to have binders and fillers, and this delays the absorption of the nutrients they contain.

For the reasons mentioned, yes, the weight loss supplement is worth your while.

Green Coffee Bean Extract for Weight Loss: Myths and Misconceptions

Green coffee bean extract is one of the weight loss supplements that has received massive attention in the health and wellness community recently, and that is for a good reason. After all, it indeed has properties that help people lose weight. Its popularity, however, can be disadvantageous in the sense that people tend to set unrealistic expectations towards it. And, the myths and misconceptions that surround it are not helping either. So it is time to take a look at these myths and misconceptions and set them straight.

1. It is not any different from the regular coffee.

This is no truth to this as the process of making the two is different, and that makes all the difference. Regular coffee is made from roasted coffee beans, and this is what makes it not so bitter. However, this also causes it to lose significant amounts of beneficial compounds. Green coffee bean extract, on the other hand, is made from unroasted coffee beans. This means that beneficial compounds, including chlorogenic acid, are retained.

2. "I am taking the supplement. I will lose weight even though I just sit around."

Perhaps this is one of the gravest mistakes of anyone who is trying to lose weight with the help of the supplement or any supplement for that matter. The supplement does help you naturally lose weight by inhibiting the production of fat in your body. However, there is no such thing as a miracle pill. If you want to maximize the results of your efforts to lose weight, then you will have to do your part by doing your best to keep a healthy diet and get some exercise as much as you can.

3. It has no benefits other than being a weight loss aid.

This is definitely not true. In fact, green coffee bean extract also functions as a powerful antioxidant. This means that it prevents health problems caused by free radicals, including Alzheimer's disease, heart disease, and cancer.

What Should I Eat to Create a Balanced Diet For Weight Loss?

January is the month of "New Year's resolutions." Many of us look at this time as an opportunity to set goals, create new habits, and lose weight! January is the sweet spot for most gyms across the country as people attempt to lose a lot of weight or just those 5-10 pounds that they gained between Thanksgiving and the New Year! Well, this year, rather than deprivation you can create a balanced diet for weight loss that will allow you to eat a lot of food!
Exercise is fantastic for your health, burning calories, and can certainly help with your weight loss goals. In order to lose 1 pound of fat in one week, you must reduce your calories by 3,500, which equates to 500 calories per day! You can accomplish this by exercising more and eating more nutrient dense, low calorie food. In other words, eat as many vegetables as you like, and leave the bread basket for someone else! Much research is being done on what constitutes optimum nutrition. Most dietary programs are based on macronutrients which takes into consideration the percentage of protein & carbohydrates, versus the fat consumed.

However, new cutting edge research is not just about macronutrients, but also micronutrients. The building blocks of a balanced diet for weight loss include micronutrients. Micronutrients make up the vitamins, minerals, enzymes and phytonutrients. Phytonutrients are the non-vitamin and non-mineral substances that plants produce to protect themselves from their environment. There are many significant health benefits that are being linked to the consumption of these micronutrients (in plants). They play an integral role in a balanced diet for weight loss.

Micronutrients are primarily plant-based and are not found in animal or dairy products. Fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts and seeds currently make up less than 10% of the average American diet. Scientists are only beginning to understand the powerful role micronutrients play in our overall health. A diet high in green leafy vegetables, mushrooms, berries of all kinds, legumes and seeds strengthen the immune system. When we eat a diet high in "whole" foods, we feed our bodies thousands of micronutrients which lower our blood sugar and cholesterol, decrease body weight, boost the immune system, and may reverse heart disease and prevent cancer. The micronutrients in just broccoli alone are well into the 1000's. Many of these critical compounds have yet to be fully identified by scientists.

New research shows that when the body does not receive balanced nutrition in the form of both macronutrients and micronutrients, it sends out hunger signals. The cells are starving for the nutrition that micronutrients provide. When we eat processed food, to satisfy our hunger, the body still remains hungry for nutrition from micronutrients. Therefore, you continue to have cravings to eat even more. Your New Year's resolution for weight loss should be to increase the amount of "colors" of food you consume from the produce section of your supermarket: Color is king! Buy a wide variety of colors of produce from green leafy vegetables to brilliant yellow and orange squash, to red bell peppers, purple beets and eggplant.

I know for many, it is a struggle to develop a taste for vegetables. But there are vast resources on the internet as to how to prepare vegetables (without gobs of butter and cheese) that are delicious! You can steam, roast, braise, or stir fry them. Roasting your vegetables is a simple and delicious way to bring out robust flavor without any fuss. Incorporating fruits, vegetables, beans and seeds into your diet can be challenging; but fun, healthy, and weight friendly.

Weight Loss Benefit Of Jogging: How To Get Rid Of Love Handles

Use the benefit of jogging exercise to lose love handles

If you are anything like I was many years ago you might describe yourself as 'cuddly' or 'huggable'. Anything to disguise the fact that you're a little overweight and have a few rolls of unsightly fat around your middle. If this is you then you might want to learn the secret of how to get rid of love handles.

Sorry, there's no secret way to eliminate love handles but I can tell you about how I managed to lose my love handle fat. It didn't happen overnight and I did have to work at it but slowly the fat around my middle and other parts of my body started to melt away and I've managed to stay reasonably lean for many years now.

Nutrition and exercise is the key to losing love handles

I didn't know much about nutrition and exercise at the time and I still don't know that much but I did know that you need to do some exercise. Any exercise is better than none right? I also knew that the more calories you eat the more fat accumulates on your body. I've no idea why it all seems to go on around your middle first but it seems to be very common.

The first thing I did was cut down the size of my meals to reduce my calorie intake. This is very difficult to do if you have a low metabolism like I do because you don't have to eat much before you start putting on weight. This means that you probably don't eat much to start with. You can also make adjustments to the things you eat to help you lose fat. For more about nutrition see this article: Food To Help You Lose Weight.

The next step is to introduce some regular exercise. This will burn off some of the calories that you consume allowing you to at least eat something. When you decide what type of exercise you are going to do you should pick something that you'll enjoy doing and can see yourself doing regularly and consistently. That way you'll be able to keep it up for a long time to come.

Jogging to lose weight

I chose to start jogging. I wanted to lose body fat all over but I was most concerned about my love handles.

I also knew that I would enjoy jogging in the park along the riverbank. Pleasant surroundings is a definite bonus and incentive to keep going as are the occasions when I happen to meet a girl jogging and swap weight loss notes.

Your weight loss from jogging

Exactly how many calories you'll burn by jogging depends on a number of factors. The heavier you are and the faster you run, the more calories you'll burn. A rule of thumb estimate suggests that jogging for weight loss will burn off roughly 10 calories per minute. You can use this estimate to work out how much jogging you are going to need to do.

The calorie burned jogging in 30-minutes 6 times a week will be roughly 1800 calories a week. Another rough rule of thumb suggests that 1 pound of body fat is equal to 3500 calories. At this rate you should lose about 1 pound of weight every 2 weeks, which is a very slow but healthy way to lose weight. This assumes of course that your weight was stable before you took up the exercise and that you don't eat more than you did before.

It was a slow process but over time it did show me how to get rid of love handles because they eventually disappeared. I still enjoy the jogging to this day and my love handles have never returned.

Finding The Perfect Weight Loss Supplement

Many moms and dads don't usually find it hard just to lose weight. Aside from that, they have to look after their kids and make sure that they are well taken care of. Basically, parents usually overlook their health because they are too busy to go to the gym or enroll themselves in weight loss programs.

Most parents usually rely on weight loss supplements that could help them lose weight even with minimal diet and exercise. But do these weight loss supplements really work?

Actually, they do. There are tons of weight loss products out there that really work. However, it is important that before buying any product, you have to consider a lot of factors first. Here are some of those factors.

1. It should be FDA approved

The Food and Drug Administration advised people to check the bottles of weight loss products whether they are FDA certified or not because there are a lot of products out there which could pose serious side effects.

Another way of checking a certain product whether it is certified is by going to the FDA website.

2. It should be approved by your physician

As much as possible, it is important that you consult your physician first. A certain weight loss supplement may contain ingredients that are contraindicated to your health condition. Always remember that prevention is always better than cure.

3. It should have good reviews

Don't buy products that contain many bad reviews. However, it is also important that you check whether a certain review is legit or not. If possible, you could contact those people who have used a certain product in order to get some honest insights.

4. Popularity doesn't mean it's great

Just because a certain product is very popular, it doesn't mean that you should buy it right away. As much as possible, don't be a victim of advertising. This is where researching becomes highly important. Getting the right information is by far more reliable than advertisements and commercials.

Finding the right weight loss supplement can be tough but if you do things right and follow these guidelines then you'll eventually find the best weight loss supplement that can help you lose weight in no time even with minimal diet and exercise. As much as possible, don't be a victim of TV commercials, articles on magazines and most of all of fitness gurus who are only after profit.

Weight Loss Plans and Perfectionism

Have you found yourself doing quite well at eating sensibly for a while before seeing all your progress unravel? Do you find that after having a 'bad day' it is difficult to get started again? This article is about creating healthy ways of thinking to help you sustain a weight reduction plan long-term.

One of the key requirements before setting out to achieve any weight reduction goal is to have the correct mindset. If you keep doing what you have always done you are going to get the same result, so a complete shift in the way you think will probably be necessary if what you have tried before hasn't got you the results you had wanted.

Generally speaking people have a tendency to live life in a kind of 'auto pilot' mode (although some would deny it) and when it comes to weight loss or any other goal this can cause someone to feel as if they are stuck in a rut. The key to breaking out of it and making progress is to become more aware of your thought processes. This is the first step to making a permanent change for the better.

One common barrier to healthy weight management which I have come across during hypnotherapy sessions over the years is perfectionism. On a scale of 1 to 10 how important is it for you to get things right? If being perfect or doing things perfectly is important in many areas of your life it is highly likely that you will adapt a similar attitude to weight loss.

A person with perfectionist tendencies is likely to become completely disillusioned when they have a day in which they didn't follow their plan and ate a lot of junk food etc. The danger with this type of thinking is that it can be a real hindrance and it distorts reality. After all, one 'bad day' out of 10 isn't all that bad!
Perfectionist thinking can lead to all sorts of other issues for the simple reason that perfection is actually impossible to achieve. Things can always be better in one way or another, so a perfectionist can never be satisfied or happy for very long. Many of my clients who have changed from being perfectionists to becoming more flexible in their thinking have reported not only greater ease at managing their weight, but also greater all round contentment with life.

Many clues about how we should live are to be found in nature. There is an order to nature, but part of its beauty is in its imperfection and our way of thinking about things should follow along similar lines if we are to be healthily balanced and successful in what we do long-term.

Protein Shake Diet for Weight Loss

Protein shakes are used in a meal replacement diet. That is when you replace one or two of your meals with a shake. Breakfast is always a winner for a shake to replace a meal. Getting off to a light and healthy start to the day helps us mentally as well as physically.

If you are going to replace two meals a day I would usually recommend that you replace dinner with a shake and have a real but healthy lunch. Sometimes however you are going to have social occasions that require you to take dinner in company. On those occasions it may be preferable that you replace lunch with a protein shake and eat more normally at dinner. You should of course still eat sensibly. There would have been little point in taking the low calorie lunch if you are now going to take the calorie laden desert at dinner.

People suffering from problems that are due to obesity do frequently try a great many types of diet before they obtain their goals and their complaint is often that after stopping an earlier diet they regained all of the weight plus a bit more.

I have written at length, both here and elsewhere about the health value of the ingredients of a protein shake, but it now occurs to me that we underplay the psychological value of meal replacement. Just consider the difference in size between your normal dinner plate laden with food and a 250 ml glass of liquid. Obviously the actual content of the two are completely different, but I am not comparing calories, vitamins or minerals I am just considering volume.

Of course every dietician and nutritionist wants to help in the fight against obesity and it is right and proper that we should concentrate on the quality of the food that we put in our mouths. We should however not get swept away on a tide of technicalities if we lose sight of the wisdom of our forebears. Their simple advice to good health was to eat less and exercise more.

If you have reached your target weight then you are to be congratulated for your perseverance but it will be to no advantage if you regain what you have lost once you return to more normal eating. My suggestion is that those who have reached their goal by meal replacement shakes will have become more used to smaller quantities.

This of itself may be the reason that people using a meal replacement diet have been shown to have more success than others at keeping the weight off.
